We currently have an opening for a regular full-time Psycho-Social Rehabilitation (PSR) Specialist at our Areta Crowell Wellness & Recovery Center Program.

Areta Crowell Wellness & Recovery Center (ACC) is an Adult Outpatient Program located in the Central Region of San Diego. ACC provides initial psychosocial assessments, psychiatric and medication evaluations, ongoing medication support services, limited individual supportive counseling, group counseling, supported housing, case management services, care coordination, information, referrals, and linkage, and crisis intervention.

ACC provides these services under contract with the County of San Diego Mental Health Services and the Health and Human Services Agency. ACC serves individuals 18 years of age and older with serious mental illness and co-occurring substance abuse disorders.

The emphasis of our treatment is on the psycho-social rehabilitation of the individual. Respect for the client is a core value, and our staff work closely with all of our clients to develop individualized service plans that focus on their strengths, needs and abilities. We encourage our clients to take an active role in their recovery and our program uses these principles in all of its groups and activities. We work closely with our clients and frequently seek out their suggestions and comments to provide services that remain current with the ever changing needs of our community. We encourage the participation of family members in the recovery process. Our community holds a wealth of knowledge and experience, and including additional people in the support systems of our clients holds the benefits of improved health and stability.

The ACC Team is multi-disciplinary and consists of Marriage and Family Therapists, PSR Counselors, Psychiatrists, Nurses, Master’s Level Psychology Interns and Peer Staff.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Psychosocial Rehabilitation Specialist (PSR) works as part of a highly dynamic Team on a shared caseload working with other professional disciplines within the field. Job duties include crisis intervention, psychological assessments, individual and group psychotherapy and treatment and discharge planning for adults who are diagnosed with severe mental illness and may be dually diagnosed with a substance use disorder.

QUALIFICTIONS / SKILLS REQUIRED

The candidate must have an Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology, Psychology, or Social Work or related field with minimum of 2 years related work experience in mental health field and be a Registered MFT intern, ASW, or Professional Counselor Intern, PCI.
