POSITION SUMMARY

Provides general casework services to assigned clients and their families using Psychiatric Rehabilitation concepts and Recovery Philosophy. This involves coordinating and collaborating with other services and agencies such as the Public Defender’s Office, Child Protective Services, Probation Department and County Mental Health Services.

QUALIFICATIONS

Two (2) years of direct treatment experience in an inpatient psychiatric setting is required

A Masters’ Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or one of the Social Sciences and a valid Driver’s License are required;

A license by the State as a Clinical Social Worker, Marriage & Family Therapist, or Mental Health Counselor is preferred;

Necessary skills include the ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.

A thorough understanding of client rights, an understanding of the conservatorship process, and knowledge of basic medical and psychiatric terminology.

The ability to read, write and speak English is crucial, as is the willingness to work with disabled adults.

Must have completed first aid and CPR training or obtain certification within four (4) weeks of hire.

Applicant must be finger printed and receive clearance from Criminal Justice Department.
