Available immediately for a BBS-registered Associate Clinical Social Worker, Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, or Associate Psychological Clinical Counselor in a private practice office available now near San Vicente Boulevard and Sixth Street in Mid-Wilshire/Beverly Hills/West Hollywood.
Clinical supervision/part-time employment (W-2 status) with an LCSW Supervisor (over 27 years experience) in a fully-furnished, beautiful private practice office convenient to Beverly Center.
Supervisor has been supervising Associates since 1997, and has coached many successful associates to licensure and successful insurance-free careers in private practice, providing case supervision and career development/practice-building support.
Supervisor’s private practice focuses on the LGBT community in general, and gay men in particular, people living with HIV, and people living with chronic psychiatric disorders, but this associateship practice is open to practitioners interested in ALL adults and couples issues (no divorce or custody cases, please).
Internship is for seeing clients on weekday mornings, Monday through Friday before Noon, or all day on Saturdays or Sundays. Limited evening office space available.
Successful candidate MUST use ALL chart forms in format provided by Supervisor, meet strict chart documentation requirements, as well as provide a Personal Marketing Plan to recruit your own clients.
Compensation starts on a 60/40 fee split arrangement, followed by a 50/50 arrangement, with fees set by Associate with approval from Supervisor, with minimum fees set to make Associateship feasible.
You cannot see clients in the office until your BBS registration number, malpractice insurance, signed Supervision Agreement, Marketing Plan are in place.
Associate must ALREADY possess MA/MS/MSW in the appropriate field, be registered as an Associate with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS), have purchased malpractice insurance at the $1,000,000/$3,000,000 levels, and be an active paid member of AAMFT, CAMFT, NASW, or another appropriate professional association for psychotherapists (for Code of Ethics compliance).
Only therapists who use evidenced-based, mainstream, standard theoretical orientations welcome. No “trendy” or “pop” psychology models such as “sex addiction”, “porn addiction”, “repressed memory”, “rebirthing”, “primal scream”, “past life regression”, etc. Evidence-based, mainstream intervention models only. All population niches and clinical interests considered.
Excellent clinical skills, chart documentation skills, and three professional references verifying clinical skills and legal/ethical compliance are required.
Compliance with Codes of Ethics, LGBT-Affirmative Therapy, and non-discrimination policy required.
Associate will be a W-2 employee of Supervisor, subject to federal and state tax withholding, paid every two weeks.
