Job Title: Clinical Counselor

SALARY: $ Competitive

POSITION INFORMATION: Clinical Counselor 40 hrs.

JOB SUMMARY: The incumbent will provide a range of client care for individuals addressing co-occurring substance abuse and mental health treatment in an all-women’s residential treatment setting. Services provided include: assessments, treatment and exit planning, individual, family and group counseling. This individual must have strong communication skills, both written and oral, and be able to work closely with the program treatment team. Other abilities necessary to perform this job include: The ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds from a place of cultural humility, organize and manage time effectively and thrive in a fast paced environment with deadlines. Supervision provided for hours towards MFT or LCSW licensure.KEY REQUIREMENTS * Must pass Live Scan Fingerprinting * Drug Testing required * Background and-or Security Investigation required * Valid Driver’s License and Insurance

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: BASIC QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: The basic requirements for employment as Clinical Counselor are: * MA, MS or BA degree with equivalent experience * Previous experience working in the behavioral health care field * Previous experience working with Substance Use Disorders (SUD) * Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques includes suicide and lethality assessments. * Knowledge and understanding of clinical counseling theory, principles and practices. * Ability to assess problems and identify an approach to treatment * Draw conclusions based upon facts gathered during assessment * CPR/First Aid Certified * Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, particularly in the area of substance use disorder treatment. * Knowledge of, and ability to apply, a wide range of professional theories and assessment methods to a variety of patient populations. * Ability to develop coherent treatment strategies. * Ability to incorporate new clinical procedures. * Ability to utilize supervision and consultation effectively to improve work performance. * Experienced with AOD and Mental Health Required * Person in recovery a plus * Bi-lingual a plus
