The Position:
The Intensive In-Home (IIH) and HOPE program is designed to assist families in the development of critical family life and parenting skills including crisis management, conflict resolution, behavioral management, communication skills, and the appropriate utilization of community resources to ensure family stability and cohesion. Children who reside with their biological parents or are in some form of foster placement are eligible to participate in the programs. The children referred to these programs have been screened by Santa Barbara County Department of Behavioral Wellness (BWell) and have been determined to be at imminent risk of further decompensation without therapeutic intervention, or are at risk of losing their foster home placement. Program elements and goals are to provide therapeutic interventions that specifically target the Client Plan goals to reduce problematic symptoms and support foster/relative guardian families to competently and safely care for their children in their homes while maintaining their placement

The Therapist is a pre-licensed or licensed practitioner of mental health services. They must be registered as an Associate (formerly referred to as Intern) MFT, LCSW or LPC with the State of California if unlicensed. The Therapist will have training in the areas of crisis intervention/management, family systems theory, cognitive behavioral interventions, and humanistic psychology. Pre-licensed Therapist will participate in clinical supervision according to the requirements of the BBS. This position is located in Santa Maria, CA.

Employment Standards:
• Therapist must be registered with the BBS as an Associate (formerly known as Intern) MFT, an LCSW Associate, or a LPC Associate with a minimum of 500 hours of supervised experience; or a Licensed Clinician.
• Therapist must have experience working with youth and children (aged 21 and under).
• Therapist must pass the Law and Ethics exam within 6 months of the beginning of employment if the therapist has not completed the Law and Ethics exam process.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
• Excellent clinical, interpersonal, analytical, computer, written, and verbal communication skills required.
• Professional attitude, ability to enjoy teamwork, and the ability to maintain confidentiality is required.

Classification, Hours and Pay Rate:
• This position is full-time, non-exempt (40.00 hours per week), with benefits.
• Rate of pay is DOE.
• Valid CA driver license and proof of insurance required.
