Mental Health Worker/skill trainer Intensive Treatment Foster Care program seeking dynamic & creative staff with to work with resilient youth in treatment foster care program.

Experience with SED youth, residential or Group homes is required to provide therapeutic services in resource/foster family homes as alternative to residential treatment care. It is an amazing opportunity to partner with resource families to keep youth in homes and in the community. Our goal is to create as much normalcy for youth who have experienced extensive trauma and removal from their bio home.

  • Part time (full time in future may be possible)
  • Excellent position for Graduate students, Graduate Interns, or BBS supervision for part time IMF or ASW. Treatment Foster Family Agency seeking individuals to work with foster youth in home/community settings;
  • Active position providing rehab skills, teaching coping skills, self care, self regulation as well as mindfulness, wellness, and independent living skills.
  • Direct care position working with individual youth in 1:1 settings, at home, libraries, parks, and in community. Youth are typically 10-17 yr old.
  • Some small group work.
  • Enjoy using Best Practice methods, including Why Try, Wellness Recovery action plans (WRAP) , Motivational interviewing, CBT , DBT skills as well as recreational therapeutic skills.
  • NAI is a Trauma Informed Agency. Cultural Diversity is welcomed.
  • Enjoy collaborating with families creating a supportive team for youth. Key aspect of position is teaching skills/ use of clear interventions and tools.
  • Creativity is a plus.
  • Afternoon/Evening/Weekend Shifts available Part-time 20-25 hours/week may be more hours depending on flexibility (depends on your availability and needs of youth). Hours tend to be in afternoon and early evenings, some flexibility (1 pm – 6pm or 7pm for example)
  • Excellent training: initial and on-going.
  • Services around San Diego County, south, east and north county. Must have own vehicle and insurance. Escondido Office- Mileage reimbursement
  • BBS supervision offered.

Requirements:

BA/BS in child development, social work, psychology, and/or like degree with 6 months experience with residential treatment/TBS/or with severely emotionally disturbed

OR

AA degree and 1 year experience with residential treatment/TBS or SED

OR

If no degree then 3 or more years of experience may be considered from residential treatment/group home/TBS

Must be able to pass background check/fingerprinting. Immediate openings available.
