School Based Wellness Coordinator

The mission of HYC is to serve youth and their families by promoting the development of strong individuals and families in their community. This is accomplished through education, therapeutic approaches, advocacy, and the utilization of community resources.

Currently Helpline Youth Counseling has an immediate opening for a part-time (33 hours per week) School Based Wellness Coordinator who will:

• Evaluate service needs for families referred through the local School District.
• Providing intensive individual, family and /or group therapy for youth and their families’ onsite, in educational institutions.
• Perform crisis intervention to program participants.
• Performing intake assessments, client evaluations, and formulate a plan of treatment which promotes development and maintenance of individual goals designed to facilitate growth.
• Work with the local school district and school psychologist as needed to assist in accomplishing client treatment planning and outcomes for clients.
• Monitoring and maintains documentation of client services, ensuring compliance with agency policies and procedures, and other related agencies standards and guidelines
• Participate in clinical staffing/treatment meetings providing feedback on all pertinent cases.

Requirements:
• Master’s degree in Social Services, Psychology, Sociology or related field and BBS Registered.
• Experience in conducting group and individual counseling with adolescents and families.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Valid California Driver’s license, current auto insurance and good driving record.
• Ability to pass local and federal background check and criminal clearance.

Comments:

This is a temporary position for 3 months at 33 hours per week.

The Managed Care (MC) Therapy Program is contracted with the Santa Barbara County Department of Behavioral Wellness (BWell) to provide therapeutic services to children and adults, who are Medi-Cal beneficiaries that meet medical necessity, and their families.
