Turning Point Foundation, a non-profit agency serving adults with serious and persistent mental illness, has on-call Counselor I relief positions open in the Our Place Safe Haven program which is a 24 hours a day, 7 days a week shelter in Ventura.
Counselors are responsible for overseeing the safety and well being of Safe Haven clients and the security of the environment. Must be able to interact with clients on an informal basis, mediate client conflicts, and manage crisis situations.
Counselor must be able to communicate effectively and solve conflicts in a productive manner.
Work hours are flexible including swing or overnight shifts.
Intern supervision hours available.
Individuals applying must have experience working with mentally ill individuals and must be able to speak English.

The Intensive In-Home (IIH) and HOPE program is designed to assist families in the development of critical family life and parenting skills including crisis management, conflict resolution, behavioral management, communication skills, and the appropriate utilization of community resources to ensure family stability and cohesion.
