The Bilingual Mental Health Clinician operates under the direction of the Programs Manager. S/he will provide individual, family and group counseling to youth who have been identified as needing Mental Health and/or AOD (Alcohol and Other Drugs) outpatient treatment in Sacramento County. The Mental Health Clinician will also provide case management for his/her caseload as needed or as deemed necessary by the Clinical Director.
Position Duties & Expectations:
- Examine issues including substance abuse, aging, bullying, anger management, careers, depression, relationships, self-image, stress, suicide, etc.
- Collect information about clients through interviews, observation and tests.
- Guide clients in the development of skills and strategies for dealing with their problems. – Prepare and maintain all required treatment records and reports.
- Learn about new developments in their field by reading professional literature, attending courses and seminars, and establishing and maintaining contact with other social service agencies.
- Develop therapeutic processes and plan/conduct programs to prevent substance abuse or improve community health and counseling services.
- Residential treatment in addition to our outpatient services will also be needed.
Requirements:
- Must be registered with BBS.
- Must be licensed &/or licensed eligible.
- Must be bilingual with Spanish as first or second language.
- Must be able to engage and work with teenagers and families.
Please Note: Position is currently part-time but maybe subject to change. Compensation is based on experience, educational background and qualifications.
