Case Manager/ Therapist Intern for Treatment Center/Rehab

Must have completed master’s level education as MFT or ability to accrue hours as a PsyD Intern.

Must Hold a BBS Intern License in these disciplines and be finished with school.

Must be reliable, have their own transportation and live within a 20 mile radius of the center in Malibu

Must have experience working in treatment or some related field and a strong understanding of Case Management/Therapeutic duties.

Case Management Responsibilities:

  • Attends staff meetings, in-services, all scheduled shifts and trainings.
  • Comprehends and follows instructions from direct supervisors
  • Maintain attention and concentration for necessary periods
  • Understands and can utilize 12 step based instruction with clients
  • Apply common sense understanding and carry out instructions (written, oral or diagrammatic)
  • Adapt to situations requiring the precise attainment of set limits, tolerances or standards
  • Performs simple and repetitive tasks
  • Ask simple questions or request assistance when needed
  • Perform routine, concrete, organized activities
  • Remember locations and work procedures
  • Make decisions based on simple sensory data
  • Maintains work pace appropriate to given work load
  • Perform activities on schedule, maintain regular attendance, and be punctual within specified tolerance
  • Complete normal workday and/or week, perform at a consistent pace without excessive rest periods
  • Performs complex or varied tasks
  • Synthesize, coordinate and analyze data, ability to use computer programs related to the job
  • Perform job requiring precise attainment of set limits, tolerances or standards
  • Relates to other people and can multitask
  • Can get along with co-workers or peers without exhibiting behavioral extremes
  • Maintain open door policy to encourage active, empathetic listening with clients and coworkers

Preferred Duties and Requirements:

  • Conducts on-site or in-house evaluations for potential clients. This may include utilizing activities/groups/Individual sessions. Completes BPS within first 24 hours of entrance.
  • Shares responsibilities for reasonable on-call duties which may include having an on call google voice number that is shared with client/family/and staff, responding to emergency telephone calls, decision making in non-crisis and crisis situations and going to the clinic or residential site upon emergency (not regularly).
  • Stays on top of their daily session notes for groups and individual sessions.
  • Promotes by example and through education, the philosophy to all house staff and relays issues to proper department heads if situations arise.
  • Performs therapy sessions as scheduled and emergency sessions if needed.
  • Transports patients as needed if licensure allows.
  • Performs and multitasks other duties as assigned within given work frame.
  • Completes thorough exit plan with the client through out their stay in treatment.
