Beacon School is a non-public school (NPS) providing contracted mental health services within public schools to special education students who may be struggling with emotional issues and mental health challenges.
We are expanding our service in San Mateo County Public Schools. We have new openings for school-based mental health clinicians (ERMHS) in various public school districts the San Mateo County area starting this August for the 2020-2021 school year. The current openings are in Palo Alto/RWC area, San Mateo and South San Francisco areas, respectively. Positions are full time (school days and school hours) with one 24 hour part time position additionally.

Clinicians provide IEP based mental health services which can include individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, or push-in classroom support to special education students on comprehensive public school campuses. Clinicians work with a specific school district, but work at multiple school sites. Duties include maintaining a regular caseload of students, completing mental health assessments; attending and presenting goals and updates at IEPs; and collaborating with school staff, parents and other mental health agencies.

Qualified candidates must be registered with the BBS as either associate (AMFT or APCC on a licensure track) or licensed MFT or LPCC. Successful candidates will be able to manage a full caseload of 15-20 direct client contact hours weekly in addition to clinical documentation, assessments and expected collaboration with school teams.

Bilingual English/Spanish candidates are strongly encouraged to apply but not req’d. Additional hourly paid for qualified bilingual candidates.
