The Mental Health Rehabilitation Specialist (MHRS) position performs both supervisory and direct service duties.

Direct services provided include group facilitation, participation in treatment team and development of treatment interventions, implementation of clinical interventions, clinical documentation and assessments to ensure safety as clients participate in programming on / offsite, crisis prevention and intervention, support with medication monitoring, and assisting clients in not only meeting basic needs (activities of daily living, providing safety, structure and support) but also promoting the growth and independence of clients through an array of cognitive, behavioral and humanistic therapeutic approaches.

Supervisory duties include providing support to a team of unlicensed, direct care staff (5-6 team members) during their shift, as well as training new staff. The MHRS is viewed as an experienced member of the team, whose knowledge and understanding of mental illness aids in enhancing the quality of life for clients as well as preventing crisis and/or providing assistance during challenging times. The position is also the go-to person to assist their team with problem solving in meeting both the client’s needs as well as the facility’s need to maintain compliance and uphold standards of high quality care.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
– M.A. or M.S. in psychology or related field (or graduating within 3 months)
-Current CPR certification (AHA AED/BLS/Healthcare Provider)
– Crisis Intervention Certification (provided by the facility within first 90 days of employment)
– Leadership or supervisory experience preferred

This position also allows for individuals to collect supervision hours towards licensure in the areas of Marriage & Family Therapy, LPCC, and LCSW.

ASTCI offers set schedules to staff, with regularly scheduled shifts / days off that don’t rotate from week to week. MHRS shifts include: 7AM — 3:30PM, 10AM — 6:30PM or 3PM — 11:30PM and schedules are dependent on availability. Flexibility in scheduling is favored.
