Asian Pacific Counseling & Treatment Centers is a division of Special Service for Groups (SSG) and was the very first mental health center in Los Angeles County specifically developed to meet the unique needs of rapidly growing numbers of API immigrants and refugees who were in need of a wide range of mental health services.
SSG/APCTC is recruiting a full time, bi-lingual Korean therapist at our Metro Center location (600 St. Paul Ave. #101, Los Angeles, CA 90017). The PSWI/MFTRI will be working with children, adults and families. The candidate must have a Master’s degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy or related field from an accredited university and a valid registration as an ACSW or MFT Registered Intern with the State of California BBS.
Duties will include, but not limited to, conducting individual, family and/or group counseling either in the office, field or client’s home. Candidate will provide crisis assessment and intervention and depending on program assignment, will need to provide 24-hours emergency psychiatric coverage for clients. The candidate will collaborate with hospitals, family members, law enforcement, DPSS/GAIN eligibility workers and significant others and will facilitate access to needed resources for their client in the community. Candidates are required to maintain up-to-date DMH documentation.
Skills
We are looking for candidates who have a strong interest and comfort level in working with children, adults and families and are familiar with DSM V and are able to thrive in a fast-paced, team focused environment.
The ideal candidate must be willing to take initiative, be persistent and eager and willing to learn.
