We currently have an opening for a regular full-time Bilingual TAY (Transitional Aged Youth) Lead Clinician / PSR (Psycho-Social Rehabilitation) Specialist at our South Bay Guidance Wellness & Recovery & Outpatient Center.

South Bay Guidance Wellness & Recovery Center offers a wide range of outpatient mental health services to the culturally diverse adult population of San Diego’s South Region. They also provide initial psychosocial assessments, psychiatric and medication evaluations, medication support services, limited individual supportive counseling, group counseling, care coordination, information, referrals and linkage, crisis intervention, and psychosocial rehabilitation activities. South Bay Guidance provides these services under contract with the County of San Diego Mental Health Services and the Health and Human Services Agency to individuals 18 years of age and older.

The emphasis of treatment is on the bio-psycho-social rehabilitation of the individual. Respect for the client is a core value, and our staff work closely with all of our clients to develop individualized service plans that focus on their strengths, needs, and abilities. We encourage our clients to take an active role in their recovery and our program uses these principles in all of its groups and activities.

We work closely with our clients and seek out their suggestions and comments to provide services that remain current with the ever changing needs of our community. We encourage the participation of family members in the recovery process. Our community holds a wealth of knowledge and experience, and including additional people in the support system of our clients holds the benefits of improved health and stability.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The TAY Lead / PSR Specialist provides psychosocial rehabilitative interventions and services to include: evaluations, screenings, assessments, crisis intervention, and case management in order to meet the psychosocial and other needs of clients, individual counseling and group counseling. S/he assists clients in accessing and using Medi-Cal, community resources, family, and other support systems to achieve an optimal level of health and functioning in the community. Rotation on-call for after-hours emergency telephone consultation is required in this position. Oversight of TAY department, including providing consultation to staff and final approving documentation.

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS REQUIRED

The candidate must have an M.A. in Counseling Psychology, Psychology, or Social Work or related field with minimum of 2 years related work experience in mental health field and be a Registered MFT intern, ASW, or Professional Counselor Intern, PCI.

Knowledge of co-occurring disorders is essential and experience working in an out-patient model or with a walk-in model based program is preferred. Training with Anasazi Electronic Health Record and San Diego County documentation strongly preferred.

Bilingual Spanish/English is required for this position.
