THERAPIST (Bilingual Spanish)

Starting Pay at $52,500 for unlicensed Therapists

Established in 1946, Haynes Family of Programs has grown from a small operation serving just a handful of children into one of the largest and most comprehensive non-profit organizations of its kind, dedicated to helping children with special needs relating to emotional development, abuse, neglect, abandonment, autism, Asperger’s Disorder and learning disabilities.  Nestled against the backdrop of the San Gabriel Mountains, Haynes Family of Program’s lush 21-acre campus is located in the City of La Verne at the east end of Los Angeles County. Our Mission is to strengthen the Mind and Spirit of children with emotional, special learning, and developmental needs by providing specialized programs in a nurturing, caring and therapeutic environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides therapeutic interventions and services to clients and families within Residential, Non-Public School and/or community settings.
  • Responsible for verifying medical necessity, conducting clinical assessments, developing individualized Client Treatment Plans, providing Evidenced-based individual, group and family therapy services, and coordinating the client’s care with inter and intra-agency personnel.
  • Provides Evidenced-based Practice (EBPs) interventions to clients commiserate with the training, education, and respective model adherence requirements.
  • Responsible for billing and documenting all client services in adherence to LAC-DMH standards, as well as LHC Policy and Procedures.
  • Responsible for differential diagnosing using the DSM-IV, effectively communicating with clients/families and across systems, and the balancing client services with the responsibilities of billing and documentation.
  • Ensures the treatment provided is of high quality and is consistent with the agency philosophy.
  • Heads treatment teams in an effort to coordinate the client’s care, monitor progress, assist with therapeutic interventions and oversee the client’s functioning across settings.

Job Requirements

  • MFT/MFT Intern or LCSW/ASW required.
  • Bi-lingual Spanish, REQUIRED.
  • Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health billing and documentation experience, highly preferred.
  • Formal training and experience in Evidence-Based Practices (Seeking Safety, M.A.P., TF-CBT and/or A.R.T.), highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the theory and practice of psychotherapy.
  • Ability to grasp the clinical skills needed to provide therapeutic services to a wide range of clients.
  • Must be able to effectively provide consistent therapeutic services which leads to successful client outcomes.
  • Ability to interact professionally with other disciplines, program staff and within the community.
  • Able to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing
  • Able to establish and maintain appropriate rapport with child and adolescent clients and their families.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check, pre-employment physical, TB, drug screen and maintenance of a good driving record.
