SAY San Diego is looking for a Clinician to join our Reflections Program!
This is a full-time, exempt position working 40 hours per week.
POSITION PROFILE:
This position provides education, counseling, and prevention services to children, youth, and families referred through the juvenile justice system and/or the Breaking Cycles program. Has the authority to co-sign case documents.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Supervise and manage a full-time caseload.
* Provide case management, counseling, and group services to children, youth and families.
* Provide psycho-social assessment and services to youth (12-17) and families.
* Strong skills in individual/family/group therapy needed.
* Provide in-home family support and counseling.
* Conduct group counseling sessions.
* Maintain and aggregate casework and statistical records for government contracts.
* Administrative responsibilities including caseload distribution, client assignments, contract coordination and accountability services as assigned.
* Maintain on-going outreach and linkage building activities within the community, the schools and juvenile justice system.
* Facilitate necessary groups, including but not limited to, Anger Management, Independent Living Skills, and Social Skills on a weekly basis.
* Provide weekly in-home and onsite services to the families and adolescents in the Reflections program.
* Provide case management services, including treatment planning, assessing needs, and referrals to appropriate resources as needed.
* Client advocacy and client follow-up.
* Maintain accurate updated case files and compile statistical data monthly.
* Understand how to identify, refer and/or treat dual diagnosis issues.
* Meet with the SAY Reflections YFC Coordinator bi-weekly to consult on case material.
* Other tasks as assigned by the Program Coordinator.
QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience and Certifications):
* Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related field.
* LCSW or MFT.
* Registered with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (ASW or IMF).
KNOWDLEGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES):
* Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred but not required.
* Knowledge and experience working with minority populations.
* Knowledge and experience working with dually diagnosed clients.
* Strong clinical skills in family therapy, group, and multi-family group therapy, and parent education.
* Direct experience/expertise in working with youth involved with the juvenile justice system, substance abuse, gang activity, and child abuse.
* Experience in providing casework/case management services.
* Skilled in providing clinical supervision to interns and student trainees.
* Access to reliable transportation and willing to use it for job-related tasks.
* Have and maintain positive and supportive relationships with coworkers.
* Maintain accurate knowledge about the agency, its programs and service.
* Accurately represent the agency to and maintain positive working relationships with the general public, clients, funding sources, government bodies, etc.
* Communicate positive and negative feedback from the community through your supervisor to management.
* Utilize appropriate opportunities to purse positive public relations for the agency.
* Knowledge of Anasazi database, County required paperwork a plus.
