We currently have an opening for a regular full-time Lead Clinician, Older Adult Program at our Maria Sardinas Wellness & Recovery Center .
The Maria Sardiñas Wellness & Recovery Center (MSWRC) is an Adult Outpatient Program located in the South Bay Region of San Diego. MSWRC provides initial psychosocial assessments, psychiatric and medication evaluations, ongoing medication support services, limited individual supportive counseling, group counseling, case management services, care coordination, information, referrals, and linkage, and crisis intervention.
MSWRC provides these services under contract with the County of San Diego Mental Health Services and the Health and Human Services Agency. MSWRC serves individuals 18 years of age and older with serious mental illness and co-occurring substance abuse disorders.
The emphasis of our treatment is on the psycho-social rehabilitation of the individual. Respect for the client is a core value, and our staff work closely with all of our clients to develop individualized service plans that focus on their strengths, needs and abilities. We encourage our clients to take an active role in their recovery and our program uses these principles in all of its groups and activities. We work closely with our clients and frequently seek out their suggestions and comments to provide services that remain current with the ever changing needs of our community. We encourage the participation of family members in the recovery process. Our community holds a wealth of knowledge and experience, and including additional people in the support systems of our clients holds the benefits of improved health and stability.
The MSWRC Older Adults (OA) program provides services to clients ages 60 years and over who present a variety of mental health and medical needs. We currently have an opening for a Regular Full Time (32 hours a week) Lead Clinician for the Older Adult Program at our program.
General Description
The Lead Clinician for the Older Adult (OA) Program provides psychosocial rehabilitative interventions and services that include screenings, assessments, supportive case management, crisis intervention, medication monitoring, individual/group counseling, and outreach activities within a Psychosocial Rehabilitation Treatment model.
S/he serves as Lead person for services and activities for the OA program and ensures administrative support for the OA program. S/he also assists clients in accessing and using medical care, community resources (e.g. vocational and educational), family and other support systems to achieve an optimal level of health and functioning in the community.
Qualifications / Skills Required
The candidate must have Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field with at least 2 years of experience working with a mental health population.
S/he must also be CA licensed or license-eligible . Knowledge and experience with the Older Adult population and co-occurring disorders is preferred. The candidate with experience working with individuals who have a severe and persistent mental illness as well as co-occurring disorders is required.
Bilingual Spanish Skills (verbal and written) is required.
