We are a growing mental health center looking for a dedicated and compassionate MFTi to join our team.
Position Summary
The therapist is responsible for meeting with clients during the client’s treatment. This individual will have a case load assigned to them and will be responsible for facilitating groups/lectures as well as one on one sessions. The responsibility of the position requires that this individual assist clients in recognizing that drug and alcoholism (substance abuse) is a disease. To motivate clients to actively participate in their own recovery process, assisting them with learning skills, gain knowledge to improve their lives so they may live without drugs or alcohol. Therapist will wear casual business attire, no visible tattoos or piercings.
Qualifications
·Must have MFTi license.
Good physical and mental health.
· Able to work under pressure and communicate effectively, maintain a professional manner to clients, family, staff , visitors and groups.
· Must be fluent in reading, writing and speaking the English language
· Current CPR and First Aid Certification on file.
· Knowledge/experience in the Twelve Step Recovery Program· Current TB skin test.
· Be licensed and intern or enrolled in a program to be.
· Knowledge of individual, family and group therapy modalities.
· Experience with referral techniques.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Maintain positive, professional boundaries, relationships with clients, staff, physicians, visitors and other staff.
· Collect information about clients, using techniques such as testing, interviewing, discussion, and observation.
· Maintain confidentiality of records relating to clients’ treatment.
· Prepare and maintain all required treatment records and reports.
· Counsel clients individually and in group sessions, to assist in overcoming dependencies, maladjustment aiding them in making positive changes.
· Collaborate with other staff members to perform clinical assessments.
· Attend Treatment Team Staff meetings.
· Act as client advocate to coordinate required services or to resolve emergency problems in crisis situations.
· Ongoing evaluation of clients’ physical or mental condition based on review of client.
· Conduct one on ones with clients, meet with families and conduct groups.· Refer patients, clients, or family members to community resources or to specialists as necessary.
· Counsel family members to assist them in understanding, dealing with, and supporting clients or patients
· Modify treatment activities and approaches as needed to comply with changes in clients’ status
· Document interactions with client using the client management system.
· Secure a Release of Information for the client’s family, friends, sponsor anyone who will be involved in client’s treatment.
