Clinica Sierra Vista currently operates 28 comprehensive primary care community health centers in the rural and urban areas of Kern, Fresno, and Inyo Counties, located in California, encompassing several thousand square miles of farm land, desert, and mountain areas. Community health centers provide comprehensive primary and preventative health care, including medical, dental and behavioral health services, in areas where access to health care has historically been inadequate. Additionally, we operate multiple health education, prevention and case management programs providing a comprehensive array of health and human services. We serve primarily the low-income and uninsured population, including migrant farm workers, the homeless, and other special populations.

School Based Therapist: Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LMFT or BBS registered provider earning hours towards licensure. Therapist needed to work closely with school based student assistance teams, school psychologist and classroom educators meeting the IEP needs and goals of special education students. BBS Supervision, advanced training and competitive salary provided. Paid continuing education units and loan repayment available for licensed therapists. Must be comfortable and competent delivering services on the school campus. Full Time M- F.

Essential Functions:

  • Provides individual, group and family psychotherapy services as allowed within the employee’s scope of practice and the student Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
  • Screens children for the appropriateness of treatment; conduct educationally related mental health service assessments and service plans.
  • Collaborates with the school and district IEP team, other local service agencies as needed and the Clinica Sierra Vista psychotherapy team. Develops network of community resources and maintains liaison with these resources.
  • Assist in the provision of in-services and consultation to the interdisciplinary team of professionals on the staff.
  • Responsible for conducting client assessment as assigned.
  • Responsible for conducting and/or assisting in the development of the client’s IEP.
  • Keeps accurate, up-to-date records on clients served, including progress notes, transfer and discharge plans, annual reviews, and all client contacts.
  • Participates in utilization review activities.
  • Utilizes a personal computer and various software programs.
  • Prepares and delivers oral presentations to the public on CSV Behavioral Health and its programs.
  • Serves as a liaison with community agencies and schools.
  • Must have a current/valid California Driver’s License and proof of insurance.
  • Completion of a Master’s degree from an accredited college or university, with a major in Psychology, Marriage and Family Counseling, Social Work or a related field

AND

Eligibility for registration with the State of California Board of Behavioral Sciences as an Associate Social Worker (ASW) or as a Marriage and Family Therapist Intern (MFT-Intern)

AND

Obtain California licensure within 6 years of the initial issuance of the Board of Behavioral Sciences registration number.

OR

2. Within 90 days of hire must obtain and maintain a current and valid MFT-Intern or Associate

Social Worker (ASW) registration number with the State of California

OR

Completion of all Psychology doctoral coursework and completion of a Psychology Internship from an Association of Psychology Postdoctoral and Internship Centers (APPIC) program

AND

Obtain California licensure within 6 years of the initial issuance of the Board of Behavioral Sciences registration number.
