The San Mateo County Health System’s Behavioral Health and Recovery Services Division is seeking a well-qualified individual for the position of Psychiatric Social Worker/Marriage & Family Therapist II-Youth Services Center-Spanish Speaking Required.
This current vacancy is in the Youth Services Center located in San Mateo, CA. The position will work a full-time 40-hours per week schedule; and requires fluency in both English and Spanish. This clinician will drive throughout the County as needed to provide home-based family therapy services.
This clinician will work with a diverse Juvenile Justice population within the Youth Services Center and Camp Glenwood. The youth may be in custody or on active probation living in the community; the clinician will provide services in both; will utilize experience in the treatment of trauma and family therapy.

PSW/MFT I: $5,436 – $6,795/month
PSW/MFT II: $6,096 – $7,621/month

PSW I – current California registration as a Clinical Social Worker Associate (ASW).
MFT I – current California Registration as a Marriage and Family Therapist intern (IMF).
PSW-II – current California license as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
MFT II – current California license as a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT).
Security Clearance: This position requires that the applicant obtain and maintain a security clearance as a condition of employment.
Language Requirement: The ability to speak, read, and write fluently in both English and Spanish.
Education and Experience: Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to qualify is a Master’s degree in Social Work, Social Welfare or a closely related field.
Knowledge of: Current philosophy, principles, and practices for services to clients with serious mental illness; individual, group and family psychodynamics as they relate to adults, adolescents and children; psychological diagnostic methods and terminology; personality development from infancy through adulthood; and human and health services systems in the County including private agencies and other community resources.
Skill/Ability to: Provide treatment to adolescents, children or adults with various mental disabilities ranging from serious mental illness to dysfunctional behavior patterns, including victims of sexual or physical abuse; set realistic treatment goals and facilitate their attainment; evaluate the degree of mental disability or emotional distress of clients; communicate effectively orally and in writing; provide consultation and work collectively within a multi-disciplinary team.Application/Examination:
