POSITION: School Based Therapist – Culver City

QUALIFICATIONS:
MA degree in psychology, MSW, or Ph.D./Psy.D. in psychology from an accredited graduate program.

Two years clinical experience with children and families.

Registration with appropriate licensing board or licensure.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide individual, group and/or family treatment to SED/LD/DD/Autistic children.

Work as a member of an integrated milieu team, communicating regularly with school staff, psychiatrist, related service providers and others as appropriate.

Provide case management services.

Provide 24-hour availability and crisis intervention to assigned clients on an as needed basis.

Participate in scheduled staff, school, agency wide, and other meetings or trainings as assigned.

Maintain client information in a confidential manner.

Maintain client charts in a responsible manner and meet all paperwork deadline requirements.

Comply with the Agency guidelines, policies and procedures.

Comply with applicable professional licensing or certification requirements as well as all legal and ethical standards.

Arrange work schedule or required hours to the benefit of the school and clients, and with the approval of the program’s Clinical Director.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Sitting : Job requires sitting for up to 6 hours per day. Would occur during therapy sessions and when doing paperwork on the computer or by hand.

Manual Restraint: Able to provide crisis intervention and apply Hands on management techniques according to Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Training Program (CPI).

Climbing: Job may require climbing stairs to clients’ second-story classroom

Time on computer : Job requires up to 2 hours per day of computer usage, including use of keyboard, mouse and monitor. Will need to use the computer for progress notes and looking up resources.
