Sierra Forever Families is a private non-profit foster family/adoption agency that focuses on finding and sustaining permanency for children and youth in the foster care system. We are seeking a creative, enthusiastic and passionate licensed therapist for a full-time position in our Sacramento office.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Clinician is a member of the Therapeutic Support Services team providing strength based in-home and community based services to children and families involved in the child welfare system. The primary focus is to stabilize and secure permanency for families and children, to stabilize placement for children in the foster care system, and to support a lifelong, secure, and permanent family connection as expediently as possible so that no youth will age out of foster care without a permanent family connection. Responsibilities include EPSDT Medi-Cal billing, assessments, treatment plans, CANS and other documentation requirements. The position will require a mental health aspect: with a focus on relational, attachment, and trauma informed practices.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) or Master’s Degree in a related field
• Registered with BBS, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) preferred
• Knowledge of Medi-Cal EPSDT billing and documentation — preferably AVATAR experience
• A permanency focus with foster youth is expected as this is Sierra’s mission
• Familiar with the effects of trauma, grief and loss and youth development
• Experience working with children and youth in foster care
• Working knowledge of mental health issues and community resources
• Social work experience in foster care and special needs adoption preferred
• Knowledge of child welfare, adoption and foster care regulations
• Strong practical and theoretical foundation in strength-based practices
• Knowledge of wrap around and community-based program principles
• Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with other team members, county child welfare agencies and community resource agencies
• Proficiency with computer technology
• Willingness to work non-traditional hours as the job necessitates
• Cultural competence to work with diverse populations
• Possess a valid California driver’s license, provide proof of adequate vehicle insurance and have access to reliable transportation
• Must submit to and pass health screen, TB test, criminal record and child abuse index clearances
