The Bella Vita, A Beautiful Life Psychology Group Inc. is a private organization in Los Angeles and Ventura counties providing services for people with Eating Disorders. We are seeking Part-Time MFT Interns to work as Counselors and who is caring and committed to excellence, a self starter with high work ethics to join our team in our Residential Treatment Center in La Cañada Flintridge.

This is a paid internship that applies towards BBS LMFT certification. We provide excellent supervision so you can become successful professional therapists!

Rates: $15-$17/hour depending on experience and qualifications

Schedule- Part-time – 3 days/week as follows:

  • Wednesday 3:00pm-11:30pm
  • Saturday 7:00am-3:30pm
  • Sunday 7:00am-3:30pm

Marriage and Family Therapist Intern (MFTI) – JOB DUTIES:

  • Develops and facilitates psycho educational groups
  • Provide behavioral health and direct patient care in a supportive and therapeutic environment
  • Facilitates one-on-one support counseling
  • Monitor and support patients during meal preparation and meals
  • Milieu management as required
  • Report and document patient behaviors, occurrences, and conditions
  • Communicate effectively with patients and all members of the multidisciplinary team
  • Crisis management and intervention as required
  • Maintain continued awareness of patient activities and needs
  • Monitor changes in patient activity or need, and respond appropriately
  • Monitors and supports patients’ activities of daily living
  • Participates and/or facilitates patient outings
  • Monitors and supports patients’ medication management
  • Assist patients in obtaining vital signs
  • Referral Development duties as assigned
  • Other Duties as Assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • MA in Psychology or related field
  • Registered MFT Intern
  • 1+ years experience as a mental health counselor or clinician
  • Experience with eating disorder population a plus
  • 1+ year as a counselor/clinician in eating disorder treatment setting a plus
  • Experience working in a multi-disciplinary treatment setting preferred
  • Inpatient or residential treatment setting experience desirable
  • Working knowledge of PC-based office applications
  • Working knowledge of electronic health record system
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills
  • Work well in a multi-discipline team setting
  • Well-organized and detail-oriented.
  • Strong work ethic, high energy level, creativity and ability to work as part of a team
  • Handle simultaneously projects at once and prioritize activities
