GENERAL FUNCTION: Under the direction of the Program Manager, this position will provide appropriate clinical services and case management for PREGNANT and/or PARENTING adolescents in residence. Will provide individual, group, family and milieu therapy, providing information, consultation, advocacy and collaborative treatment planning within the agency and in cooperation with other agencies. This role will function as a program therapist and social worker to meet the needs of client.

MAJOR TASKS:
1. Provide comprehensive case management such as enrolling client in school, completing Needs & Service plans and Quarterly Reports.
2. Maintain all Clinical Records including: EPSDT documentation, Community Care Licensing forms, documentation of outside mental health treatment, psychiatric notes, psychological evaluations, contact sheets and discharge dispositions.
3. Pursue and provide family therapy and parent education when appropriate.
4. Assess client’s needs, strengths and level of functioning; establish a current psychosocial and needs assessment, diagnosis and treatment plan.
5. Provide therapy groups and social skills classes as assigned by supervisor.
6. Consult with Clinical Manager and psychiatrist re: assessment and treatment.
7. Consult with client’s teacher, on-site and in the community as needed.
8. Consult with client’s outside psychotherapist, physician, etc.
9. Establish and maintain consistent monthly contact with client’s HHSA social worker regarding client’s progress, placement planning, medical needs and outside services. Provide advocacy and disposition recommendations.
10. Assist the consulting psychiatrist in writing clinical reports for psychiatric and psychological assessments. Obtain and utilize such assessments in providing advocacy, treatment planning.
11. Participate in weekly individual and/or group supervision.
12. Participate in Trainings as assigned by clinical supervisor.
13. Maintain daily observation of child’s activities and interactions, consulting with the Residential Counseling Staff, having weekly contact with each client and reading daily progress notes.
14. Assist Residential Counseling Staff in therapeutic activity planning, and assist with crisis assessment and behavioral interventions to support milieu and school programs.
15. Transport residents to appointments using agency van and/or personal vehicle as required.
16. Attend weekly Case Review meeting to discuss client’s progress and provide input for collaborative team treatment planning.
17. Adhere to Casa Code of Ethics, Policies, Procedures and Intern Handbook.
18. Provide 16/20 hours per week of clinical services, prioritizing tasks to accommodate daily needs of residents.
19. Perform other relevant duties as related to this profession and assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completion of Masters level study in Social Work or Marriage and Family Therapy leading to licensure as an LCSW or MFT.
  • Must be a California Registered Intern. BBS Number required.
  • First aid/CPR and Pro-Act trained.
  • Compliance with employment requirements, including but not limited to satisfactory results of a pre-employment health exam and TB test, fingerprinting for a background check, provision of clear DMV record, etc.
  • Must qualify for approval by agency insurance carrier to drive agency vehicles – minimum 3 years valid driver’s license, no infractions if under age 25, no more than 1 minor infraction in last 3 years if over 25.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer.
  • Must be at least 21 years old, and at least 3 years older than Casa’s oldest client, per contract requirements.
