Asian Pacific Counseling & Treatment Centers is a division of Special Service for Groups (SSG) and was the very first mental health center in Los Angeles County specifically developed to meet the unique needs of rapidly growing numbers of API immigrants and refugees who were in need of a wide range of mental health services.

SSG-APCTC is currently seeking a clinician with experience working with families, adults, older adults to work under the Wellness program. The candidate must be bi-lingual in Korean . The candidate must have a Master’s degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy or related field and a valid registration as an ACSW or MFT Registered Intern with the State of California BBS. The candidate must be familiar with the DSM 5/ ICD 10.

Duties will include, but not limited to, coordinating group rehabilitation services and overall mental health care for adults and older adults in the program. The clinician will assist clients in establishing achievable recovery goals, monitors and documents clients’ progress towards rehabilitation goal and works with the treatment team to formulate daily rehab activities.
Candidate will provide crisis assessment and intervention. The candidate will collaborate with hospitals, family members, law enforcement, board and care facility and/or significant others and will facilitate access to needed resources for their client in the community. The candidate will teach clients daily living skills, self-advocacy skills and assist clients in managing problems of daily living. Candidates are required to maintain up-to-date DMH documentation.

We are looking for candidates who have an interest and comfort level working with adults and older adults who have moderate to severe mental illness. The candidate must be comfortable providing psych-social education to clients on a daily basis. We are looking for a candidate who is able to thrive in a fast paced and team centered work environment. The ideal candidate must be willing to take initiative, be persistent and eager and willing to learn.
