The Older Adult Full Services Partnership (FSP) Team at Wilshire Community Services provides an intensive intervention team for older adults (age 60+) with a serious mental illness. FSP clients participate in efforts to connect to appropriate health and community services for mental health treatment, physical health treatment, food and clothing assistance, transportation assistance, drug and alcohol recovery, housing and vocational services. FSP programs have adapted a “whatever it takes” approach to promoting and encouraging wellness for enrolled FSP clients.

The Clinician works in a team based approach to provide services to Older Adults (age 60+) with a serious mental illness. The Clinician provides therapeutic support through counseling and other behavioral health interventions to clients enrolled in the Full Service Partnership program.

This position is located in our North County office and would serve clients living in North County and on the Coast.

Status: Non-Exempt, Full-Time (30-40 hours)

QUALIFICATIONS:

Master’s degree in mental health field; CA mental health license or BBS intern number required (Clinical Supervision provided by Wilshire Community Services).
In-home and/or field experience preferred.
Previous experience working with older adults and/or adults with disabilities is preferred.
Ability to handle intense situations, display good judgment and decision making skills, and remain calm and clearheaded under pressure.
Must demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to a client’s right to self-determination and to make choices.
Must have reliable automobile and utilize own vehicle at work with a company mileage reimbursement.
Conditions of employment include: must be at least 18 years of age; possess a valid CA Driver’s License, minimum 2 years driving experience, reliable transportation, proof of auto insurance, and DMV driving record that meets Wilshire’s current vehicle insurance requirements. May be required to utilize personal vehicle and auto insurance.
At the time of hire, other conditions of employment are to comply with a criminal record clearance and present with a clear drug test.

Must have capability to prioritize completion of tasks while meeting documentation deadlines and to work effectively as part of a mutually supportive team.
