Program/Department Description:
CERRC offers competent and genuine treatment and recovery services to meet the needs of alcohol/drug addicted men, women and their families. To do so we provide self-help meetings, social activities, and educational workshops in addition to a comprehensive treatment program. We are an outpatient facility that provides our services to clients referred from Proposition 36 (probation and parole) and CalWORKS. We also provide services for those who are self-referred.
Position Description:
- Provides outpatient mental health counseling and case management to clients with substance abuse and mental health disorders.
- Provides group counseling sessions and may have a caseload of clients
- Documentation must be of standards set by Title 22 and MHS Policies
- Promotes higher levels of wellness, stability and quality of life, assists in the prevention of acute psychiatric episodes or substance abuse relapses, and assists the client to lessen the debilitating effects of substance abuse and mental disorders.
- Interacts with clients on a day-to-day basis providing individual and group counseling, as well as engaging in therapeutic and psychosocial activities.
- The MHCM Intern will be provided clinical supervision from a licensed therapist.
Education/Experience Requirements:
- M.S./M.A. degree in Social Work with an emphasis of Clinical Social Work, Marriage, Family, or Professional Clinical Counseling or other course of study acceptable to the State of California Board of Behavioral Science toward Licensed Clinical Social Worker Marriage and family Therapist.
- Must be registered as a Intern with the BBS
