The KAS (Katie A. Services) Clinician provides therapeutic services, including counseling, case management, permanency planning, and crisis intervention, to youth and young adults ages 6-21 years of age. The Clinician is the Primary Service Coordinator (PSC), guiding and overseeing all aspects of treatment and authorizing services. Clinicians provide services at the program site and in the community, including schools, and family homes. and is an integral part of the youth’s team.

Solano County KAS Services aim to address mental health symptoms that are impacting the youth’s ability to successfully meet their life goals. In addition to symptom management and reduction, Clinicians collaborate with youth and their family treatment teams to identify and work toward overall wellness goals, such as increasing independent skills, increasing adaptive coping skills, expanding their support network, accessing community resources, and pursuing employment and educational opportunities.

Services build on the values and strengths of each youth and family, and are tailored to meet their unique and changing needs. Our approach to services is youth driven. Each client identifies the focus of their treatment, as well as the people they want on their family treatment team, which may include supportive family, friends, or community members.

Job Duties: 

  • Serve as the clinical lead and work with the treatment team to provide intake assessment, treatment planning, crisis intervention and other mental health services as needed at the program site, in clients’ homes, and in the community.
  • Provide counseling, family therapy, and case management services to help clients achieve wellness goals relative to their life goals.
  • Collaborate with youth to develop their sustainable wellness plan that includes identifying their network of natural supports.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with community members, service providers, and county partners.
  • Complete documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Attend the Katie A. Child and Family Team meetings.

Hours:

  • Full time Monday- Friday
  • Flexible schedule required, with the ability to work some evening and weekend hours as needed

Job Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in psychology, counseling, or social work required.
  • Eligible to register with the California BBS.
  • Own vehicle, California driver’s license and insurance.
  • TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any other licensing or certification requirements.
  • Knowledge of psychotherapy theories and interventions.
  • Experience in working in a mental health setting preferred.
  • Experience working with diverse populations.
  • Strong communication skills and flexibility.
