Bilingual Spanish MSW – NCJW/LA Community Mental Health and Supportive Services is seeking a full-time bilingual Spanish LCSW to join our highly collaborative team. This is an entry to mid-level position and applicants should possess strong clinical skills in initial assessment and treatment of children and families, teens, couples and individuals as well as ability to provide resources, referrals and empowerment. Must be comfortable managing/overseeing phone calls, supervising paraprofessionals and ensuring proper risk assessment and documentation. Must have excellent writing and verbal skills, demonstrated knowledge base of best clinical practices and cutting edge approaches. Experience with mindfulness preferred. Must be self-motivated, conscientious, able to work independently, able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, highly organized, computer and social media literate, personable, and able to work as a team player.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO
Under general direction and supervision of the CMHSS Director, with latitude for some independent judgment and decision making, fulfills all duties of a Clinical Social Worker, including: clinical assessment, consultation, preceptor for MSW intern, appropriate documentation, record keeping and delivery of therapy services for individuals (including children and adolescents) couples, families and groups. Participates in Council Talkline, program development/improvements and community outreach as needed and directed by CMHSS Director.
– Demonstrates positive regard for clients, consistent responsiveness to clients’ needs, and respect for clients’ dignity and self-determination.
– Demonstrates adherence to the legal and ethical standards of the social work profession including fulfillment of mandated reporting requirements and HIPPA compliance.
– Assists in program planning and development, staffing and coordination of CMHSS/NCJW events, and CMHSS programs as assigned by Director.
– Participates actively and collaboratively in departmental and interdepartmental meetings and agency-wide events, trainings; in-services, community meetings/events and/or professional collaborations, as assigned/supervised by CMHSS Director or NCJW/LA Executive Director
– Maintains appropriate client documentation and case records, including assessments, progress notes, treatment planning/updates and referrals.
-Actively pursues professional development through participation in clinical supervision, conference and trainings, self-education, and post-graduate education, as assigned by Director and as required for licensure.
-If eligible, fulfills all responsibilities of Field Instructor/Preceptor for MSW interns or MFT interns, including providing training, supervision, documentation review, and evaluations for interns, as required by schools and as assigned by CMHSS Director.
Other duties as determined by the CMHSS Director or Executive Director.
Education: M.S.W. degree or M.F.T. degree. Associate Social Worker (ASW) or MFT Intern number required. A current ASW/MFT certificate must be visibly posted in the office at all times.
Strong organizational skills; flexibility; commitment to working as a team player, ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, communicate in a clear and positive manner, change priorities and tasks as organization and supervisor requires, maintain positive interpersonal relations, and work cooperatively with a diverse and constantly changing staff and volunteer base.
Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of responsible relevant experience in fields of social work preferably in a non-profit, social service, or government discipline, in both direct service and administrative capacities.
A satisfactory equivalent of education, training, and experience in the same or related fields, sufficient to qualify for the duties of position.
Must have a valid CA driver’s license and evidence of auto insurance.
Computer literate with good written and verbal skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, organized, flexible, able to maintain positive interpersonal relations and a team player.
