Admissions Clinician
The Admission clinician provides assessments, makes provisional diagnoses according to DSM-5 criteria, makes level of care recommendations, advocates for clients, and may, from time to time, provide crisis intervention services.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
•May travel off-site to conduct assessments and/or provide information about Phoenix House program.
•Responsible for working with the clinical team to obtain initial and ongoing authorizations for treatment services.
•Responsible for upholding regulations established by the Department of Social Services for the State of California and aligning services with the vision and shared values of Phoenix House.
REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS:
•Must possess LMFT or LMSW licensure, or have a registered interim number for licensure
•Familiarity with DMH documentation and billing preferred but not required
•Must possess and maintain a valid California Driver’s license and a driving record that allows for operation of company vehicles
•Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required
EXPERIENCE:
•Experience providing assessment and diagnosis services to clients and determining appropriate level of care based on symptom presentation.
•Demonstrated competence consulting with Case Managers and members of treatment team in development of individual client treatment plans
•Familiarity with ASAM level of care criteria as well as DSM-5 diagnostic criteria.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
•Ability to assist with patient intake and promoting client understanding of placement
•Strong diagnostic skills
•Ability to use problem solving skills to determine best course of treatment for families.
•Capability to document sessions and treatment with clients and / or family member
