JOB SUMMARY:
Working alongside the Child Welfare Social Worker and FUERTE Transitional Specialist, the Mental Health Clinician will be responsible for providing in-home individual and family therapy to participants of the FUERTE program. The Mental Health Clinician will be trained to use Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI) interventions with youth and resource family/birth family. Services will be provided in-home, across Santa Cruz County, will require some evening/weekend hours, and 24-hour crisis response on a rotating schedule. Master’s level required and will provide clinical hours and supervision for license-track.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide weekly in-home individual and family therapy using TF-CBT and MI.
Maintain appropriate documentation of services and data collection, including thorough psychosocial assessment, diagnosis, treatment plan, and therapy/counseling sessions.
Work closely with the FUERTE Treatment Team (Child Welfare Social Worker and Transitional Specialist).
Attend weekly case review/collaborative team meetings with the FUERTE treatment team.
Attend child and family team meetings (CFTs) as required.
Some evening and weekend hours required.
24/7 Crisis response on a rotating schedule required.
Represent the agency in a professional and collaborative manner that fosters positive working relationships with other agencies and agency representatives.
Required Qualifications:
Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT) or Licensed Clinical Social Work (LCSW) preferred; Master’s level BBS-registered interns required.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
Clinical experience with broad diverse populations including established competency and experience in specialized areas of child welfare, juveniles, families, substance abuse, and mental health.
Working knowledge of diagnostic criteria as outlined in DSM V.
Thorough knowledge of community resources throughout Santa Cruz County.
Valid California Driver’s License and vehicle registration
Proof of citizenship or right to work in the United States
Criminal Record Clearance, Physical examination and TB clearance before hire.
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Strong computer literacy skills
Valid Driver’s License and vehicle insurance
Provide own transportation and be familiar with community resources.
