Acknowledge Alliance, formerly the Cleo Eulau Center,  is a non-profit organization based in Mountain View, California. As a mental health pioneer, we partner with educators and other caring adults in their school setting to support the social and emotional needs of youth and the well-being of school communities.

Function

The psychotherapist position will provide primarily individual and some family therapy to multi-cultural adolescents at Redwood High Continuation School in the Sequoia Union High School District located in Redwood City, CA. Additionally, this therapist will perform some intensive case management and make referrals to outside resources as appropriate. This therapist will be part of a student services team and, if licensed, may have the opportunity to provide clinical supervision to graduate students. This position is hired and supervised by the Clinical Director at Acknowledge Alliance. On-site, the position reports to Redwood High School’s Social Services Manager, who assigns referrals and serves as the clinical lead on campus.

Responsibilities

• Provides weekly individual psychotherapy to students on campus

• Provides family therapy to some families of students as needed

• Intensive case management and crisis intervention

• Able to run therapy groups as needed

• Collaborates closely with Social Services Manager on site

• Collaborates with education staff and may provide some consultation and clinical insight to staff

• Partners with Social Services Manager to provide in house professional development related to mental health topics

• Meets with clinical supervisor from Acknowledge Alliance on a regular basis

• Psychodynamic and strengths based approach

• Knowledge and use of attachment theory in practice

• Knowledge of family or other systems theory

• Experience doing family therapy

• Understanding of and experience working with complex trauma

• Flexibility and ability to effectively and professionally navigate a variety of systems and collaborative relationships

• Awareness of and honors cultural norms and implications in counseling

• Adherence to confidentiality within complex systems

• Natural and highly developed collaborative and rapport building abilities

• Excellent writing and verbal communication skills

Required Education and Experience

Bi-Lingual (English-Spanish)

MSW, MA, LCSW, LMFT, Psy.D., Ph.D. (License-Eligible accepted. Supervision available.)

Experience providing psychotherapy to multi-cultural adolescents with complex trauma and some experience working in a school setting.

Terms of Employment

This position is a continuing full-time, benefited position that begins August 1st, 2017. It runs from August 1st through the second week in June every year. Start time and hours may be flexible for the right candidate. Salary is competitive.
