River Oak Center for Children’s Juvenile Justice Diversion and Treatment Program is looking for individuals passionate about working with a team to meet the needs of youth with mental health concerns in the justice system to stabilize and return to family or graduate off probation. Our Full Service Partnership teams include Probation Officers, Social Workers, staff from Sacramento County Behavioral Health and others. The team approach includes therapy, medication, intensive case management, while providing non-traditional approaches like touring community colleges, getting involved in activities and teaching independent living skills.Duties include, but are not limited to:
• Initiate, build, and maintain relationships based on trust and respect with client, family, team members
• Participate in and/or conduct comprehensive individual and family assessments
• Perform home, school, office and work visits
• Perform case management duties including treatment plan monitoring, advocacy, referral and linkage to other needed services and crisis interventions
• Direct, coordinate, and participate in the development of client goals and participate in the writing of program specific treatment plans and client/family plan(s).
• Meet established billing goals; track productivity levels on a consistent basis
• Demonstrates the skill to work with various cultural and ethnic clients, employees and families in a tactful and effective manner
• Demonstrate the skill to build rapport by building trust, developing a therapeutic relationship, applying reflective listening and mirroring skills and providing hope and insightWe are interested in candidates that have experience or interest in working with the following specialty populations: gang involvement, substance abuse difficulties, sexually exploited and trafficked youth and young adults with significant mental illness.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, communications and counseling skills.
• Able to influence people in a positive manner, prioritize responsibilities, and build rapport with a wide variety of individuals.
• Must have a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college with major course work in social work, psychology, and counseling or a closely related field plus, at least four (4) years full-time experience in providing mental health services/social services case management or counseling
• Possess a Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or Marriage and Family therapy, leading to clinical licensure.
• Candidates in their last semester of graduate school may be considered. If the degree is complete, must become registered with the CA Board of Behavioral Sciences or Board of Psychology.
• Some positions may require the possession of a valid LCSW, MFT, or PSY license, plus additional experience.
