Responsibilities:

  • Establish open lines of communication for individuals with mental or emotional issues
  • Offer assistance to individuals with a range of psychological, emotional, and behavioral problems
  • Requires a valid driver’s license and vehicle, as the majority of visits will be field based, so there can be a lot of driving
  • Implement and review treatment plans, parent support groups, and/or parenting classes as needed or required
  • Collaborate with additional treatment providers and placement agencies, center clinicians, consulting specialist, the representative from schools, DCFS and other jurisdictions as required.
  • Ensure all documentation is completed in a timely manner, 70% of hours worked each week are billable productivity. For a 40-hour work week, billable productivity is 28 hours

Qualifications:

Requires a Masters Degree in psychology, MSW or PH.D./Psy.D. California License or License-eligible preferred.

Minimum 1-year clinical experience with children and families.

  • Previous experience in mental health counseling or other related fields
  • Familiarity with community mental health resources
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to build rapport with clients
  • Strong leadership qualities

We are seeking a Therapist to join our team! You will be responsible for coordinating Mental health care services for American Indian/Indigenous clients in Los Angeles, CA who are Spanish speaking. Providing assessment and counseling/therapy to eligible children, youth, and adults as a member of a treatment team. The Therapist identifies social needs and coordinates linkage of the client with one-to-one therapeutic counseling regarding mental health or substance abuse issues. The majority of services are provided in the field providing home-based/community-based counseling services in Spanish.
