DESCRIPTION

Turning Point FIT provides intensive outpatient mental health services in the office and community setting to children and families. The FIT therapist is an integral part of the treatment team. Utilizing appropriate therapeutic interventions and therapy models, the FIT therapist assists youth with developing and implementing skills to best support with achieving their identified goals. Additionally, the FIT therapist partners closely with a youth’s family and natural support system while working collaboratively with the treatment team and multiple child-service systems in order to support with improving the youth’s functioning across settings.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide group and individual therapy as indicated.
  • Make recommendations for improvement in clinical program. Will have input on clinical issues as part of the clinical team.
  • Develop individual service plans for each client and empowers clients in meeting their goals; assists teams with development of service plans that reflect measurable objectives.
  • Advocate for and assists clients and their families in accessing and receiving mental health treatment, medical care, housing, food and clothing as indicated.
  • Meets regularly with clients at Turning Point sites or in the field, at job sites, homes, board and care facilities, skilled nursing facilities and other appropriate sites; transports clients and families to appointments.
  • Drives on program business using personal vehicle.
  • Maintains clean driving record as well as currency of driver’s license and vehicle insurance/registration.
  • Maintains valid licensure as LCSW/MFT/Psychologist or valid registration as ASW/MFTI.
  • Consult with or meets regularly with the client’s family, care provider or other significant persons with client’s consent.
  • Coach clients in developing appropriate social skills, money management, personal hygiene, and job readiness.
  • Assist in establishing client’s eligibility for Medi-Cal or other benefits and advocates for continuation of benefits when appropriate.
  • Develop financial management plans for clients who receive Representative Payee Services and authorizes appropriate expenditures.
  • Interact productively within the team in order to provide holistic case management services to an identified group of clients.
  • Provide “on-the-spot” counseling that is both helpful to the clients and consistent with the philosophy of the program.
  • Attend to the safety, health, and well being of clients.
  • Complete paperwork as assigned in a timely manner and meets agency standard for billable units per month; all notes meet County and MediCal billing standards for content and configuration.
  • Provide after hours, “on-call” coverage on a rotational basis to program clients.
  • Provide support to other staff members as needed.
  • Provide in-home therapy as directed by the access team.
  • Provide prompt intervention in the event of a crisis both to stop the crisis and to notify, when indicated, persons and agencies necessary for the resolution of the crisis situation.
  • Meet and maintain all standards of performance, including productivity and professionalism as well as program protocols.
  • Adheres to and upholds the policies and procedures of Turning Point Community Programs.
  • Attend staff meetings unless approval for non-attendance is secured from the Program Director.
  • Meet the standard for consistent attendance (not more than a 5% absence rate per month) by reporting to every scheduled shift on time and ready to work and by the judicious use of paid sick leave and avoiding any situations resulting in the need to dock pay for time not worked.

  • Licensed Practitioner of the Healing Arts (LCSW/MFT/Psychologist or ACSW/AMFT) -or- valid registration with the CA BBS as an ACSW or AMFT
  • Bilingual in spanish is a huge plus!!
  • Prefer a minimum of 1 year experiance in supervision/management
