Mental Health Counselor

Visions Unlimited, Inc., is a private non-profit organization that provides outpatient mental health services to adults. We are located in South Sacramento. Visions Unlimited is looking for a full time Mental Health Counselor.

****Visions is adhering to social distancing guidelines. Services are currently done with clients by phone.**

Essential Duties:

  • Conduct clinical interviews to gather information, assess patient needs, determine level of risk to self or others, and determine need for hospitalization.
  • Formulate a diagnosis, develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Facilitate individual or group therapy sessions
  • Complete documentation and maintain required client-related records, including client diagnostic records, and progress notes within the assigned timeframes.
  • Update treatment plans with clients annually.
  • Counsel family members to assist them in understanding and supporting clients.
  • Refer clients or family members to community resources or to specialists as necessary.
  • Maintain confidentiality of records relating to clients’ treatment.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members including staff psychiatrist, nurses, mental health workers, and peers.
  • Work with a culturally diverse population.

Qualifications:

Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a mental health related field such as Social Work, or Marriage, Family and Child Counseling. Must be registered with the Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) or Associate Social Worker (ASW).

Compensation:

Our compensation package includes comprehensive medical and dental plan, life insurance, profit sharing, paid holidays, sick and vacation hours and a personal holiday. We offer a monthly incentive plan.

Visions provides individual and group supervision for BBS licensure.
