This Bilingual Therapist is the full-time position (Non-Medi-Cal position) and will be housed at the Allen Ewig Building post COVID19 pandemic.

Essential Duties:
1. Provides screening, assessment and treatment planning services to all assigned children using the preferred language of the client/family.
2. Provides case management, direct treatment and necessary collateral services using the preferred language of the client/family to all assigned children and families.
3. As needed, the therapist may also provide collaborative case conceptualization, and interventions specific to treating individuals with serious to severe impairment/disturbances in mood, behavior and/or psychosocial functioning (i.e. acute risk of harm, psychotic symptoms, cognitive impairments, serious behavioral issues, hospitalization/incapacitation, etc.).
4. Act as an interpreter/translator for their Spanish-speaking clients as they interface and become involved with other mental health or service providers. The therapist may also be called to serve as consultants for other mental health staff in matters of cultural competency and practices.
5. Complete training requirements in order to develop specialized clinical skill sets necessary to serve Aldea’s client populations.
6. Works with various modalities including individual, conjoint, family and group therapy, as appropriate for clients with serious to severe impairment/disturbances in mood, behavior and/or psychosocial functioning.
7. Serves children, as assigned, at the clinic, home, school, and as needed at designated public sites in the area.
8. Completes all case-related and agency documentation in a timely and accurate fashion, including progress note, assessments, treatment plans, Medi-Cal related forms, and administrative paperwork, within Aldea’s electronic health record system and using Microsoft Office suite programs.
9. Works collaboratively with other Aldea staff, including those providing psychiatric/medical, administrative and psychological services.
10. Actively utilizes clinical supervision to develop and hone intervention skills and strategies.

Qualifications:
1. A current California license to practice psychotherapy (LCSW, MFT, or PhD) or registration as a pre-licensed intern. Ability to meet contract requirements and relevant regulations, such as fingerprint clearances, TB test, etc.
2. Strong oral and written English and Spanish language skills essential. Demonstrates a bilingual fluency including: the ability to translate mental health terminology, an understanding of different regional dialects, and the cultural competency necessary to provide services in the preferred language of the client/family.
3. Must be able to proficiently speak in Spanish as evidenced by receiving a satisfactory score on an approved Language Proficiency Test or via satisfactory business references.
4. Ability to work independently as well as within a team and to handle pressure.
5. Ability to adhere to confidentiality standards at all times.
