Status: Full-Time, $40,000/yr + excellent Benefits
Specific Responsibilities: Report to Program Manager and Division Director as needed. Provide direct services such as: outreach and education to community gatekeepers, teachers, health care providers and families. Conduct in-depth assessment for potential mental health and/or substance abuse issues, domestic/community violence, physical/sexual/emotional abuse, and physical health needs. Provide individual/group/family therapy; co-occurring disorders treatment; crisis intervention, service/discharge planning; and case-management services. Facilitate family psycho educational groups. Consult and care coordination with integrated primary care, mental health and substance abuse treatment. Provide services in-home, at satellite offices, in shelter environments and in the community as needed. Position requires travel to North and East County and be willing to be available for on-call rotation. Work with community and collaborative partners to determine the needs of families and provide culturally competent services and referrals.
Qualifications: Licensed-eligible in marriage and family therapy or social work and currently registered with the Board of Behavioral Sciences. In addition, this person shall have a minimum of two years experience working with youth under the direct supervision of a licensed clinician and two years experience working with cross disciplinary teams. Knowledge of co-occurring disorders treatment is also required. Prefer applicant who has experience working with runaway and homeless youth and who has provided services in a Medi-Cal funded clinic. Must be able to pass clearance for working with Minors, including drug test, TB test, background check, and CPR/First Aid Certification. Must have good driving record and willing to use own, properly insured vehicle for the job. Knowledge of the homeless youth population in San Diego and committed to cultural awareness. Must be willing to develop or possess working knowledge of trauma-informed care and dual diagnosis treatment; experience working in trauma-informed and dual diagnosis programs preferred.
