The Pre-Licensed Therapist position is designed for early career therapists working toward a LMFT, LCSW, or LPCC state license. It is also designed for predoctoral and postdoctoral clinicians working toward becoming a Licensed Psychologist.
- Annual contract from July 1st through June 30th of the following year.
- Maximum of 990 hours of employment each academic year
- Over 10 months this equates to approximately 99 hours/month or approximately 25 hours/week. There is flexibility with the typical schedule of 6-6.5 hours/day for 4 days/week. Work hours are consistent with a typical school day.
- Compensation: $28.60/hour, including paid training hours, great weekly individual and group supervision (also paid), as well as paid mileage.
- Associates may provide individual, group, and family therapy, as well as client-centered advocacy and consultation with various educational staff and IEP teams.
- Associates learn how to write SMART goals.
- Therapy services are administered on school campuses. Each therapist is assigned 1 or 2 schools
- Mostly Junior High and High School aged students participating in general and special educational curriculum. There are opportunities to work with elementary aged students.
- Associates will have many opportunities to develop consultative and collaborative skills working with various educational professionals (e.g., IEP teams).
- Nearly all documentation is digital. No DMH paperwork.
- MUST be able to commit for an entire academic year.
- Because of the varied and challenging learning experiences, as well as the supportive clinical supervision, nearly all of our 24 pre-licensed therapists decide to complete all their clinical hours in this position. Associates do not have to reapply for the same position in subsequent years. Similarly, nearly 100% of our nearly 150 associates since 2012 have passed both licensing examination on the first attempt!
