Responsible for crisis intervention, preliminary behavioral health screenings of San Diego Medi-Cal and uninsured indigent consumers through telephonic review in a call center environment. Assist Medi-Cal, at-risk, and other eligible consumers to find and understand the need for mental health services, substance use services and provide brief,crisis counseling by telephone for the purpose of de-escalation and linkage to behavioral health services. Refer consumers and assist in accessing appropriate Medi-Cal mental health and County of San Diego substance use services. Assist licensed clinicians in the authorization of payment for inpatient admissions of San Diego Medi-Cal consumers. Responsible for entering accurate, relevant data and clinical information into computer and electronic medical records; eligible to be approved to utilize the electronic health medical record program, CCBH data base, formerly (Anasazi). Must have a passion for helping people, and be able to work in a fast paced environment in which teamwork is a key component. Must possess a Master’s degree in psychology, sociology or a related field; experience providing direct face to face therapy is required.
The following are preferred skills: BBS practicum hours for unlicensed clinicians; 3+ years of direct clinical service; knowledge of the system of care in San Diego; bilingual Eng/Spanish; Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST); call center experience; CCBH training. Microsoft (Outlook, Word), need to be able to access the County?s Medical Record Database (CCBH-formerly Anasazi).
