We are looking for a licensed or BBS registered Therapist with eating disorder experience! The Therapists at our facility provides services within assigned programs including the Adolescent Program, Intensive Outpatient (IOP), Partial Day Treatment program (PDT) or Extended Day Treatment program (EDT). This position is part time with about 2-3 shifts per week, there is always room to grow within our facility.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Support client in transition into treatment including: establishing rapport, coordinating with collateral contacts, gather data to determine patient readiness for treatment/change.
2. Determine if a diagnosis of substance abuse disorder is warranted under supervision of Clinical Director.
3. Facilitate group therapy sessions demonstrating knowledge of eating disorders and the principles and techniques of group therapy.
4. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of individual patient and family dynamics in various stages of treatment.
5. Training and/or experience in the treatment of adults and adolescents in the areas of eating disorders and chemical dependency.
6. Lead or co-lead multi-family process groups.
7. Conduct topic groups, displaying good theoretical knowledge of subject matter and effective communication skills in delivering material.
8. Completes all documentation including psychosocial assessments, treatment planning, progress notes and discharge summary maintaining compliance with the policies and procedures of the facility.
9. Maintains appropriate and timely communication with referral sources and other significant contacts, conveying a positive professional image.
10. Conducts individual and conjoint sessions.
11. Coordinate aftercare planning with Admissions & Aftercare Lead.
12. Utilizes supervisory feedback to improve performance.
13. Participates as a team player in A New Journey milieu (i.e. active member of the multi-disciplinary treatment team, works harmoniously with other staff, participates in all training activities).
14. Able to receive feedback from supervision and peers in order to improve clinical knowledge and skills.
15. Attends clinical supervision.
16.. Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Masters degree in behavioral sciences or related field.
2. Minimum one (1) year professional experience/education in Eating Disorder experience strongly preferred
3. May be licensed, registered or pending registration with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences or Board of Psychology as a marriage and family therapist, social worker or an associate counselor working towards licensure.
4. Physical Limitations: must be able to sit for extended periods of time.

PHYSICAL LIMITATIONS:
1. Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
2. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
