Child and Family Guidance Center is an established non-profit that focuses on the mental health of children and their families within the San Fernando Valley and Antelope Valley. We are currently searching for a Clinical Therapist (MSW or MFT) who would provide services to children in the community of Palmdale through their local schools. The Clinical Therapist primarily responsible for providing outpatient services to families with children and adolescents, ages 3-18, with severe emotional behavioral problems.
1. Provides direct clinical services to clients and their families, including individual, group and family treatment. Services may be provided in the office, field or school as appropriate or clinically indicated.
2. Provides case management services, as needed, which include but not limited to: Monitoring clients in the Medication Support Service Program and referrals to outside or internal resources, as needed.
3. Collaborates with other professionals both within the agency and outside the agency, as appropriate.
4. Responsible for case documentation, written reports, and correspondence with other agencies involved with the client.
5. Shares responsibilities for on-call emergency consultation and crisis intervention, including after-hours telephone coverage.
6. Must meet productivity standards.
7. Attendance at agency staff meetings, case consultations and in-service trainings.
8. Expected to work two late nights until 8PM. Many clients are seen after school.
Highly Preferred: Bilingual Spanish/English
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Experience working with emotionally disturbed children/adolescents.
2. Must have a good sense of judgment as pertaining to the position.
3. Must be able to prioritize and plan work activities and use time effectively.
4. Must be a self-starter and be able to work independently.
5. Must be able to complete projects and reports in a timely fashion.
6. Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
7. Must strive to continuously build knowledge and skills; and share expertise with others.
WORK SCHEDULE: (subject to change based on Center’s needs)
FLSA Status: Exempt
Work-Week: Monday through Friday (Full Time), 40 hours per week (a minimum of two evenings are required per week in order to accommodate the appointment needs of our clients)
EDUCATION:
Ph.D., MSW, MA, or MS; licensed, licensed eligible, or be registered with the BBS.
