Job Summary: This position will support LLUBMC’s strategic plan and the organization’s mission to continue the teaching and healing ministry of Jesus Christ, while embracing the core values of Compassion, Integrity, Excellence, Teamwork, and Wholeness. The Clinical Therapist (CT) 1-Outpatient conducts clinical services, participates in case management, discharge planning, and intervenes in high-risk situations. The CT 1-Outpatient complies with all legal and regulatory reporting requirements, interventions, documentation and referrals. The CT 1-Outpatient collaborates with the treatment team, collateral contacts and community agencies to deliver the highest quality patient care services.
Job Specifications: Knowledge of psychotherapy theory and techniques. Able to identify need for supervision/consultation, utilize such appropriately, and accept direction. Able to read; write legibly; speak in English (and Spanish preferred) with professional quality; use computer and software programs necessary to the position; troubleshoot and calibrate patient care equipment. Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; be assertive and consistent in following and/or enforcing policies; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; Diffuse aggravated situations with patients and families; lead, supervise, teach, and collaborate; accept direction. Completion of a master’s degree in marriage and family therapy, counseling related field, or completion of a doctoral degree from a regionally accredited institution in clinical psychology is preferred. Completion of a master’s degree in social work from a regionally accredited institution will be considered. A minimum of one year experience in a behavioral health care setting is required. A minimum of one year of experience in an acute psychiatric facility with age specific population is preferred.Registration as an ACSW, MFT intern, LPCC intern, or in the process of accruing post-doctoral hours working toward licensure as a psychologist is preferred. If in a recovery program, at least two years of sobriety is required for staff and at least 5 years for Management.
