Reporting directly to the Regional Director, the therapist is responsible for providing clinical interventions with individuals, groups, and/or families. These interventions may be completed in foster homes, family homes, in other community settings/agencies, or in an office environment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Provide clinical interventions to clients in foster care or in the community.
  • Facilitate and maintain effective written and verbal communication with the referring case manager.
  • Caseload will be assigned by the Regional Director.
  • Therapists are expected to complete progress notes for each session.
  • Initiate contact with client to commence engagement, assessment, goal setting and provision of services.
  • Creates and maintains client files (this can vary with contract therapists, and they will be given direction regarding this by the Clinical Supervisor); directly responsible for PARS, monitoring paperwork and ensuring report requirements are consistently met. Responsible for writing service plans, quarterly reports, and discharge summaries.
  • Communicate verbally and in written form all information regarding potential risk to clients to the case manager, social worker/legal guardian, parole officer.
  • Participate in monthly clinical staffing with the Regional, Clinical, and Medical Director.
  • Participate in team meetings as needed to ensure quality care.
  • Participates in a quality assurance program for the purpose of evaluating services and outcomes.
  • Therapist will learn to comprehend and diagnose with the DSM V.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Therapists must be licensed with an MFT or LCSW (or be an Intern in either) in the State of California.
  • A valid California driver’s license and access to personal automobile with required insurance coverage is required.
  • Must be able to complete a criminal justice and a child abuse registry check as required by state rules.
  • Must work independently.
  • Demonstrate the ability to prioritize, sort and organize; perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Demonstrate strong written, verbal and analytical skills.
