Mental Health Therapist
Stirling Behavioral Health Institute has an immediate opening for a licensed MFT/social worker, MFT Intern, or social worker intern in its Van Nuys office. Bilingual Spanish is highly preferred.

Stirling is contracted with the Los Angeles County Dept. of Mental Health to provide outpatient mental health services for children, teens and their adult caregivers in the central – west areas of the San Fernando Valley. Services are provided in schools, homes, and Stirling’s Van Nuys office.

Therapists are responsible for providing intake assessments, diagnosis, treatment planning, clinical interventions, discharges, case management (when needed), and providing individual and family therapy in schools, the clinic, and home environments.

Applicants should have experience with Los Angeles County DMH policies, procedures, and standards. Applicants trained and certified in one or more of the following Evidence Based Practices: MAP, TF-CBT, Individual CBT, and Seeking Safety are preferred. Experience providing FCCS or FSP is also highly preferred.

Applicant should live within a reasonable commute time to Van Nuys, CA.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Meet with clients, individuals, and families in office, school, home or community to provide counseling services.
  • Assess clients for psyhosocial, emotional, developmental, medical, and educational needs.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions and follow treatment goals.
  • Make appropriate referrals as needed.
  • Complete required documentation per DMH standards in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

  • BI-LINGUAL SPANISH STRONGLY PREFERRED
  • PhD, PsyD, LMFT/LCSW, MFT Intern or ASW
  • Registered with Board of Behavioral Science (provide BBS number)
  • Experience using and completing LA County DMH clinical paperwork
  • Trained and Certified in Evidence Based Practices (EBPs) such as MAP, TF-CBT, Seeking Safety, Ind CBT strongly preferred (certificates will be required)
  • Experience with FCCS or FSP/Wrap programs preferred
  • Experience using an Electronic Health Records (EHR) system
