Position Summary

This position will provide therapeutic services which may include therapy (family, individual, group), case management, assessment, advocacy, treatment planning and coordination for assigned clients and families.

Essential Functions

  • Functions as a team member of the San Mateo Child Abuse Treatment Collaborative (SMCATC).
  • Provide therapeutic services which may include therapy (family, individual, group), case management, assessment, advocacy, treatment planning and coordination for assigned clients and families.
  • Participates in regularly scheduled supervisory team meetings and trainings.
  • Maintains a minimum yearly productivity standard of 55%.
  • Completes charting in Portal (electronic health record) and required paperwork in a timely manner
  • Participates in family conferences and/or Child and Family Team (CFT) meetings for development and review of treatment plans.
  • Maintains confidential health records for SMCATC clients/families that are in compliance with the San Mateo County BHRS Regulations.
  • Works collaboratively with other agencies involved with assigned clients/families.
  • Sensitivity to the cultural diversity of employees and clients

Applied Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Master’s or Ph.D. Degree in Psychology, Social Work or related field.
  • Clinical license or license eligible (registered with the BBS or BOP).
  • Experience working with culturally diverse populations
  • Experience working with children and families that have been or are involved in issues relating to abuse (verbal, physical, sexual, and neglect).
  • Experience working within a variety of treatment modalities including family systems work, individual & group therapy.
  • Awareness of substance abuse issues and how they impact a family system.
  • Knowledge of DSM-V diagnosing, treatment planning, crisis intervention, and case management.
  • Willingness to provide treatment within the community that the client lives (home, school, satellite clinic etc.)
  • Knowledge of San Mateo community health resources
  • Demonstrated ability in working collaboratively with individuals and groups
  • Excellent verbal, written and consultation skills
  • Valid California driver’s license

Conditions of Employment

The employment relationship between the Agency and Employees is voluntary and at-will. Employees are free to terminate their employment for any reason at any time, with or without cause. Likewise, the Agency is free to terminate the employment relationship at any time, with or without notice. Should an employee find it necessary to leave, two weeks notice is considered reasonable.
