Sessions Counseling Group is looking for MFT interns registered with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences to join in with a start up corporation. Sessions Counseling Group’s mission is to facilitate continuing education through group supervision for post graduate/prelicensed Marriage and Family Therapist Interns while providing affordable counseling services to the community in a private practice model.

Our offices are located in the Valley Village/Sherman Oaks area near Riverside Drive and Coldwater Canyon.

We are looking for 4-6 prelicensed BBS registered MFT interns to join a private practice group. We are a start up corporation and we are excited for the opportunity to include upcoming, self-directed individuals to share our vision of group collaboration in the therapeutic environment.

Theoretically, we are looking for, but not limited to, individuals who are Depth Psychological/Psychodynamic in nature.Our website will be advertised and you will have an opportunity to present yourself with your advertising material.

Sessions Counseling Group asks interns to obtain and maintain a minimum of four (4) direct service clients.

Sessions Counseling Group will advertise as a group and direct potential clients to visit our website where each intern will have a picture and profile. Since we are working within the private practice model, we encourage all interns to be contacted directly by the potential client. As such, telephone and email contact must be provided for posting.

As client notes are an integral part of supervision, notes are required for each client and to be submitted to administration or supervisor weekly. A weekly two hour group supervision will also be required. Group supervision is currently held on Tuesday of each week from 5pm-7pm. Individual supervision will be at the discretion of the supervisors.

Sessions Counseling Group interns are required to pay a monthly administration fee of $100 due at the first supervision of each month. All payments to be made to Sessions Counseling Group shall be in the form of check or cash.

Interns will be employed by Sessions Counseling Group under the agreement of a 50/50 profit share of client payments received for services rendered. Although each intern will have the liberty to set client session fees at their discretion, each intern will be responsible for a minimum fee of no less than $40 per session for participation and supervision under Sessions Counseling Group. All payments to be made to Sessions Counseling Group shall be in the form of check or cash.

Client payments made to Sessions Counseling Group will be submitted to administration and processed. Intern profits will be submitted to a payroll service. Intern payment for services will be paid out once per month.

A refundable office key deposit of $30.00 will be required upon employment.

Sessions Counseling Group interns must carry professional liability insurance and add Sessions Counseling Group onto this policy as additionally insured.

We at Sessions encourage the autonomy of the therapist and the intrinsic skill set each therapist possesses. We are excited for new and creative means of outreach that may come from our group collaboration, colleague contact, membership in professional organizations, social media and additional individual web presence combined with personalized experience. As such, we encourage any additional community presence each intern may contribute. Any outreach, while under supervision with Sessions Counseling Group, must be reviewed and approved by administrators.
