Pilgrim Counseling Group is a small private counseling and psychology practice in Bakersfield, California that was founded to provide quality professional mental health services in a Christian context.
We are currently accepting applications for a pre-licensed therapist or clinical counselor to work in an outpatient private practice setting under the supervision of a licensed psychologist.
Responsibilities:
- Provide outpatient individual and family therapy for a variety of issues such as those related to depression, anxiety, trauma, attention problems, behavioral addictions, and impulse control disorders
- Provide assessment and brief intervention for admitted patients in a rehabilitation hospital (based on qualifications of the applicant)
- Attend weekly staff meetings and group supervision
- Develop Treatment Goals and Treatment Plans using evidence-based interventions
- Develop competency and proficiency in relevant documentation and billing procedures
- Attend various community events to build a professional network and promote Pilgrim Counseling Group
- To uphold and adhere to APA Ethical Principles of Psychologists and Code of Conduct, the ethics code appropriate to the applicant’s degree and prospective license, and all pertinent laws governing behavioral health services in the State of California
Qualifications of the ideal applicant
- Demonstrates kindness, maturity, integrity, and competence
- Master’s Degree in a relevant area of study
- License-eligible Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist or Associate Professional Clinical Counselor
- Ability to work with adults and children
- Ability to competently integrate faith and spirituality into the therapeutic process
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Minimum 1 year experience in a clinical setting
- 3 letters of reference (1 professional, 1 academic, 1 character)
- Proof of current Professional Liability Insurance
Job Type: Commission
Salary: $25,000.00 to $50,000.00 /year
