MST services are provided to probation involved youth who are at risk of out-of-home placement.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct MST assessment including review of referral information, identifying and engaging key participants, identifying systemic strengths and weaknesses, and developing an analysis of the fit of problem behaviors within the ecological context.
  • Engage primary caregiver and other key participants in active change-oriented treatment by identifying and overcoming barriers to engagement.
  • Implement a problem conceptualization, treatment planning, intervention implementation, outcome review, and strategy revision procedure using the MST Analytic Process.
  • Maintain a clear concise documentation of treatment efforts that promote peer and supervisory review and feedback, and that demonstrate compliance with the 9 MST Principles and the MST Analytic Process
  • Collaborate with all relevant systems and key participants within each system to ensure their buy-in and cooperation throughout MST treatment
  • Provide direct clinical treatment using methods compatible with MST principles and practices.
  • Participate in all MST training, supervision and consultation activities.
  • Intervene with clients’ behavior management programs and provide crisis management as needed. In rare circumstances when there is serious threat of harm, this may include physical management of the clients (implementation of Seneca’s Equilibrium Training).

Qualifications

  • Current registration with the Board of Behavioral Sciences as AMFT, ASW or LPCC required
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Experience working with children/youth and families in a mental health setting, a plus!
  • Ability to effectively work with a diverse population and workforce
  • Strong organizational, time management and writing skills
  • Willing to respond to crisis situations and be part of a rotating on-call team
  • Own vehicle, valid California Driver’s License and insurance
  • Clearance of TB test, fingerprinting, and any other State/Federal requirements
