CORNERSTONE OVERVIEW

Cornerstone Crisis Residential is a program under Yolo Community Care Continuum (YCCC) which is a non-profit community-based organization. Cornerstone is a 14-bed crisis residential treatment facility serving the adult mentally ill population in our community. Cornerstone provides a social rehabilitation model of care that allows a safe transition for mentally ill clients discharging from a psychiatric hospital in need of further stabilization and is an option to prevent a psychiatric inpatient hospitalization. All clients are served on a voluntary basis and cannot be on a psychiatric hold for danger to self, others, or gravely disabled (5150).

POSITION SUMMARY

Under the guidance of the agency Executive Director and in collaboration with the agency Clinical Director it is the responsibility of the Cornerstone Program Director/Administrator to provide oversight and management in the following identified areas: personnel, fiscal, programming and milieu management, contract management, clinical direction and client services, community relations, site and safety, administrator compliance oversight, quality improvement, and universal criteria. The Program Director (PD) is responsible for developing and maintaining good working relationships with all contracting agencies and represents the program and the agency in the community.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

The Program Director reports to the Executive Director. Reporting to the Program Director are all Cornerstone employees and volunteers.

MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education: In a Master’s program or Master’s degree in psychology, social work, or counseling; intern status with the Board of Behavioral Sciences or license eligible, preferred. Interns working towards a master’s degree will be considered and supervision is available. Verification of degree/education is required prior to beginning employment.

EXPERIENCE

Three years providing direct services in a mental health setting and three years supervisory experience: crisis residential experience preferred

CLINICAL SKILL AND KNOWLEDGE

Understanding of: DSM-V – ICD-10, principles and practices of community-based mental health, milieu therapy, crisis intervention, group counseling, individual counseling theory and technique, principles of consumer-centered treatment, and community resources.

SKILLS

Leadership aptitude, computer expertise, staff supervisory experience, management and organization, effective time management, ability to prioritize and multi-task, ability to adapt program practices and goals to changing funding requirements, ability to represent the program in a professional manner, and the ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written forms.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to lift 20 lbs., view and utilize a computer, document in written and/or typed form, and drive within the program parameters.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Valid driver’s license and clean driving record. Hiring is contingent upon receiving Department of Justice fingerprint clearance, a negative TB test, and a physical clearance. Current CPR/AED/1st Aid required prior to employment.
